June is National Homeownership Month meaning there is no better time than now to get started on the qualification process in the pursuit of homeownership. NAHN is currently offering Home Ownership Opportunities in Butte, Boulder, Whitehall and Anaconda through our Mutual Self Help Housing Program. We also have a limited number of available Homes in Butte that are currently under construction and ready for qualifying families, some assembly required.
Self Help Housing is a program of USDA Rural Development with over 50 years of operation, including over 25 in SW MT through the efforts of NAHN. Self Help Housing assists low to moderate income families construct brand new, modest high performance homes designed according to their individual budgets and needs. Each must participate in pre-purchase housing credit counseling and homebuyer education and contributes a significant amount of hours of work over the course of the build. Most family members have no prior construction experience and work with NAHN’s Construction Educator to learn on site. The homes are built concurrently and families agree to help out in all homes, moving in only when all are complete.
